Sakhi Welfare Foundation is an non-profit organisation headquatered in Jaunpur-UP.


Sakhi Welfare Foundation is an initiative started by Priti Gupta in December 2018 and run by a group of women who proudly introduce themselves as sakhis to provide awareness in schools and also among rural and slum women of India for sanitary hygiene.

In many parts of the country especially in rural areas girls are not prepared and aware about mensuration so they face many difficulties and challenges at home, schools and work places. SO, we aim to visit various villages and slum areas to educated women about menstrual hygiene.

We also work in the field of women empowerment to empower women. So that, they can live safe, fulfilled, financially independent and productive lives.

WHAT WE DO

Sakhi welfare strives to......

-Spread awareness on women well being, hygiene and menstrual health with free sanitary pad distribution.

-Installation of sanitary pad vending machines within the premises of schools, colleges and public place,toilets etc.

OUR CAMPAIGN

Sakhi welfare foundation started a Facebook campaign

# breaking_the_taboo in May 2020 by posting a photo on Facebook wall while donating a sanitary pad to a girl who is ignorant of using sanitary pads and also tagging others to do the same.

Mrs DM jaunpur and Actress and Model Himika Bose also supported our campaign by clicking a photograph while donating sanitary pads.#breaking_the_taboo campaign is being restarted by the Sakhi Welfare Foundation as part of a campaign to "quit shame, break the silence, go ahead", where a photo by a conscious woman giving a sanitary pad to another needy woman or teenager is on social media. Upon sharing, a certificate will be provided to them by the institution. Please be a part of this campaign and carry forward the sanitary pad awareness program.


Abhivayakti

Beauty pageant "Abhivyakti"was organised by Sakhi welfare Foundation on 5th January 2020 for countryside girls.The aim of the Pageant was to showcase the talent and build confidence in the rural girls provide a platform to them so that they can represent themselves as well as great Indian women, who have attained a Remarkable place in the Indian society.
